About Me
I am an HCPC licensed clinical therapist, with over 10 years' experience providing psychological therapies in the NHS and public services. I have worked with children, adults and young people in a range of settings, and with a variety of clinical presentations.
I have additional specialist experience and accreditations in trauma (CT-PTSD, CPT, EMDR). I teach PTSD treatments and cognitive behavioural methods for trainee clinical psychologists on the Southampton Clinical Psychology Doctorate programme, and I also supervise trainee placements and research, as well as supervising qualified psychologists and CBT therapists.
I draw on CBT (BABCP accredited), including acceptance and commitment therapy, and compassion focussed therapy.
My work is formulation-driven, which means I work collaboratively with clients to make sense of what caused and what is maintaining their difficulties. We then use this to plan evidence based interventions, ensuring therapy is tailored to people's unique experiences, skills and circumstances. As well as working with people's internal experiences, I am also systemically trained so help my clients to explore how the people, systems, and stories around them contribute to their difficulties, and what strategies can support them to manage this.
My online sessions are a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space for clients of all backgrounds. I have particular experience working with veterans, serving military and military partners and families, as well as LGBTQ+ individuals and people with neurodivergent traits or diagnoses.
When I'm not working with clients, I enjoy running, hiking, sailing, and spending time at home with my spaniel. I also volunteer my time to support individuals with learning disability and armed forces partners through third sector organisations.
